And We Thought The Broken Arm Was Bad!

First off, let me start by saying Morgy is bound to give me a heart attack and she is only 2. This past week I experienced the worst week of my entire live. Never before have I been so scared, sad, confused, anxious, worried, sleep deprived and helpless all at once. The worst thing imaginable, I now have expierenced and that is watching your child be so horribly sick, lying in hospital bed being poked to death with needles, struggling to breathe, and you sitting there watching with no way of helping.
So last Monday night, Morghan woke up in the middle of the night and said mommy I don't feel good. I went in and checked her and she had a slight fever and a little runny nose. I gave her some Tylenol and she fell back asleep. I took her to Day Care on Tuesday because I had a Dr's appointment out of town, while at my Dr's appt. the lady called and said Morghan was miserable and had a fever, so Nate went and picked her up. I still was just thinking she had a horrible cold and was treating her with Tylenol and Motrin and kept her Humidifier on. Wednesday was no different, but a little worse, she layed on the couch all day (which is very unusual for her) I called every doctor to get her in but no one could get me in. So, Wednesday night she was coughing really bad, I went in to check on her and she was struggling to breathe. Her respirations were 70 breathes per minute (normal 12-20) her temp was 104.0, and she was not really responding to me. I ran downstairs and grabbed my nursing bag so I could check her oxygen saturation, which was 72% (normal for toddler is 95%-100%). So I ran in and told Nate we were going the the ER. At 3:00 in the morning we scooped her out of bed and away we went. Morghan's vitals had gotten worse by the time we got there and they immediately starting running every test possible. They checked her for RSV,strep, Flu all which were negative. They poked her 5 times and finally got an IV in her to bring her fever down. Finally after a chest xray they found that she had Pneumonia in both lobes and surrounding her sternum. They immediately started antibiotics on her and admitted her to the hospital. Wednesday,Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday were pure hell. I think Morghan had a total of 10 sticks for IV Starts, 4 blood draws, 3 chest xrays, 3 nasal swabs, 2 mouth swabs. She was woke up every 2 hours for breathing treatments and vital checks. She struggled to breathe and cried all the time to go home. Although her Pneumonia was getting better her symptoms weren't. We walked her for the first time on Saturday night and she was so weak she would fall over. All she kept saying was "I want to go home mommy. Those people hurt me."Sunday afternoon, they decided they would let her go, only on oxygen and breahing treatments at home. They also left her IV in because she is not drinking so I would have to give her IV fluids if she continues to not drink. She is still only at 85-89% on her oxygen intake. She continues with two antibotics, pain meds, cough medicine and breathing treatments every 4 hours. We had a checkup today and the Pneumonia is still there but is definately getting better. The doctor is just very concerned about keeping her hydrated. I have to take her in tomorrow and if she's lost a pound he is admitting us again for fear of dehydration. I haven't slept in 5 days, and within those 5 days all I've done is cry. I seriously feel for those parents who have chronically ill kids who have to sit in hospitals day in and day out and be so helpless. I take for granted the fact that Morghan has been such a healthy child. I would never wish upon anyone what we have gone through this week. Thank goodness for my amazing parents who came down and helped and sat in the hospital room day in and day out with us, my mom would cook and bring us dinners and in between go home and walk our dogs. Truly, I don't know what I would have done without the love and support of my family and friends through this hard time. We are not out of the woods yet but Morghan played for the first time tonight so I think things are looking good.

Morgy's First Skiing Trip

We took Morghan up to Brian Head for her first skiing adventure. She did really well, she actually liked it a lot but didn't understand why she had to wait in line to get on the lift so she got very inpatient real fast. Nate stayed with her and Matt stayed with Kadence so me and Carrie went and did a couple runs. We took the girls home and Matt and Nate stayed and skied the afternoon.

Matt and Kadence coming down!

Here comes Morgy!

Yay she made it!

The girls out tubing in the back yard!

Happy New Year

We went to Cedar City for New Years this year to spend time with Nate's brother and family. It has become a tradition that we spend New Year's with them along with another couple Skeet and Candy. We always have such a good time. This year we spent a huge majority of the night playing the Wii. It was a lot of the fun, the guys got into some pretty heated tennis matches. Most of the night we just sit around and laugh. It's always great. Thanks Carrie!!!

Christmas Day!

We had a very nice Christmas this year. We ended up just staying home because I had to be the nurse on call for the Holiday! It was okay though because we did not want to haul all the presants all over the state. Morghan must have been a very good girl because Santa was very good to her. She was a lot of fun and was wound up all day. I suprised Nate with a road bike that he has wanted for a long time so I was actually very excited about seeing his reaction. We just had a lazy day playing with all the new toys. It was great!

Weekend with Family

Matt, Carrie, and Kadence came to vist us....

Aunt Carrie Kadence and Morgy!!

Morghan loved having her cousin to play in the bathtub with.

The Manly Men with their Little Girls!!

Morghan and Kloee, two little nerds.

Nates brother and his wife and daughter came to visit us this past weekend. It's always good when we get together. Nate and Matt enjoy spending time together, they are always so comical with their little sayings. Me and Carrie mostly sit around and listen to the same college stories and sayings they have year after year. Morghan and Kadence played so well together, they don't get to see each other nearly enough. We had another couple that we are close with come over and they have a little girl named Kloee so it was fun watching all three of the girls together. Sure wish Matt and Carrie lived closer. Bathroom Stall Madness

A couple of weekends ago Me, Nate and Morghan made a quick trip to Grand Junction to do some shopping. Well Nate was off doing his shopping which left me with Morgy. Well she is trying her hardest to get potty trained which meant a million and one trips to the bathroom. So, on our 101th visit to the bathroom in target she was sitting on the potty. A lady came in next to us and decided to, well ,Flatulate very loudly. Of course it was very quiet and Morghan decided it would be a perfect time to say. "WHOAH Mommy, that was a big tootie!!!" I didn't answer her because I didn't want the lady next to us to hear my comment, so Morghan kept saying, "Huh mommy, big tootie." So finally I said "Yes Morgy that was a big tootie."

It's a Miracle

This is the Miracle Picture.

Read on to find out where you can get my stylish look.

What is the big deal??? So far in Morghan's little life she has been terrified of everything. Strangers, her birthday cake, fire, smoke, pumpkins, old men, my mom's dog's scar etc....So when it came time to do Santa I thought the world was going to come to an end. In fact, I wasn't even going to try it because I just knew she would be horrified. To my huge suprise, she loved him. She ran up to him, sat on his lap, hugged him, kissed him and told him what she wanted. I was so excited I had to call everyone and tell them. So while I was waiting for the photographer to burn my CD of the pictures she kept running up to Santa and talking to him, when it was time to go she did not want to leave Santa!I had to carry her out of the building crying. The last thing she said so everyone could hear her was "I love you Santa." Everyone started laughing. It was pretty cute!!
That night was the light parade in town. So we went...Me and Nate were not prepared so we forgot chairs to sit on. We ended up having to sit on the sidewalk and froze our butts off. It was a pretty good parade. If you are wondering about how stylish I look, Keep in mind I just had surgery two days before. So, yes my little friends I did go to the parade with my hair slicked back in a ponytail, no makeup on, my belly ballooned out from surgery and my pajama bottoms on. If you would like to know how to look like this what you are going to want to do is not shower for 2 days, get your hair real nice and greasy pull it back real tight in a bun, next wash your face, apply no makeup, put on your only pajama bottoms that will fit over you oversized stomach and there you have it. The Lucious Lindsey Look..

Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was a great time. We went to my parents house this year. Everyone was there except for Adam, (his job of course!) We had a really good time which made up for last year being by ourselves out in Cleveland. There were 11 adults, 6 grandchildren and 6 dogs. Suprisingly though the weekend went very smoothly. All the kids and dogs got along. My mom cooked, which means the meals were great and we were able to get family pictures done and also a picture of all the grandkids together which was a complete nightmare!!! I didn't pull out my camera much so there are not too many pics. We had our annual game of tripoley which my parents took home the big winnings this year, much deserved I guess. Thanks mom for all the good meals and time spent in the kitchen!!!!

My dad was trying to sleep, and of course I was messing with him!

Trying to start Morgy out young on the piano...she loves it!

Morghan and her cousin Rylie, there are exactly a year a part and they play so good together.

The little ones, building castles with Bompa!!!
